Research

For over a quarter of a century, The Centre's pioneering research has educated a generation of business leaders. Moreover, it has shaped business practices in Shipping, Trade and Finance and more recently in the Logistics and Energy industries.

The Centre's excellent relationships with business, policy makers and institutions, and the quality of its research, attract the very best speakers and delegates to its symposia, biennial meetings and conferences. They feature prominent figures from commerce, finance and industry, as well as government and international organisations. As such, they are recognised as the leading forums for debate and exchange of new ideas.
Research is central to The Centre's activities, and its close proximity to the City of London has promoted close association with commerce and industry.

The Centre can test theoretical approaches against the realities of practice and the result is a body of rigorous and informed research, combined with a productive and dynamic relationship with those who can use it in the practicalities of day-to-day business.
All research at The Centre is driven by the needs of business, and is shared with industry, academia and policy makers, through conferences and seminars. Research is also shared with students via the Centre's MSc courses.

Research scope is extensive, ranging from Shipping Finance to Commodity Derivatives, Risk Management, Energy, Logistics and Commodity Trade and Finance. The Centre is renowned internationally for producing innovative research in Modelling and Forecasting.
