What do you do now? What do you enjoy about what you do?

Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree at Imperial College London for Strategic Marketing. The reason I choose to specialise in marketing is because I am fascinated with the fast-paced nature of innovations and strategies in the modern marketing world. I find it very intriguing how technology has transformed channels of marketing over the years and how the digital space allows us to observe markets from various perspectives. I also love working with a diverse group of people who share a similar passion to create. So far, it has only been a week since I joined Imperial so I’m very excited and looking forward to having an amazing experience!

Why did you decide to study at the Business School (formerly Cass)?

Coming from a family background of industrialists, I’ve always been open to the world of business. I was interested in the ins and outs of various operations, particularly B2B marketing and I knew the Business School would help me pursue my dream to its fullest potential.

How has the Business School helped you?

The Business School has helped me become a better-rounded person. Fulfilling positions, such as student representative and student ambassador, has taught me a great sense of responsibility and embedded in me strong leadership qualities. The Business School's exceptional education has equipped me with the tools that will certainly assist me in my future endeavours. Moreover, the opportunity to be flexible with my elective modules has provided me with the freedom to explore my interests. I learned a bit of everything, from financial concepts, to marketing strategies to corporate social responsibility and many more. This helped me to understand in detail what I enjoy and the direction I wanted to take my career in.

What did you most enjoy about your course?

One of the first things that come to mind is the breadth of diversity within my cohort. This was the first time I was exposed to such variety of people from every corner of the world. Here at the Business School, I’ve found friends that I will certainly have for a lifetime. Being surrounded by people who were going through the same experiences and emotions gave me a sense of solidarity. I, not only take away what I’ve learned in the classroom, but also what each individual that I’ve worked with in teams and friends have taught me. Those moments of learning are what stays with me still.

What was the hardest part of your course?

The hardest part of the course is also the most rewarding aspect of my undergraduate life. The Final Year Project/dissertation was the most strenuous piece of work I’ve done academically. I feel as though hundreds of hours and sleepless nights have gone into creating this final product. Hence, receiving the highest dissertation score in the course was one of the proudest moments of my life and made the toughest times worth it.

Particular lecturers that inspired me

The person that I’m most grateful to have during my the Business School life is Dr Martin Rich. I’ve taken several of his classes and learned new skills in each.  He is extremely helpful and is quick to respond to any queries students have. The dissertation was an overwhelming idea with so many unknowns, but he was there in every step of the way. He was respectful of all the ideas I had and helped me analyse various directions my paper could take. When I see the final report, I am truly able to see the thought transition I’ve had. From having a basic initial idea to an end result of an analytical and practical report that will also be helpful in my career. With Martin’s help I was able to create something I’m extremely proud of.
