Why did you decide to apply to Cass Business School?
There are several reasons I applied to Cass. First of all, it is the reputation of Cass Business School and the fact that it offers exemptions from professional qualifications. The teaching style offers a perfect combination of theory and practice, with academics from a large portfolio of experiences. Secondly, its central London location. Being a Cass student, I had the chance to be closer to leading financial institutions and also experience the unique and dynamic London experience.
What was your favourite thing about studying at Cass?
My favourite thing about studying at Cass was the diversity it embraces, both students and academic staff. Also, the independence level students have at Cass. The best thing is that at Cass there is always somebody that can help no matter what the struggle is. This has helped me develop as a professional and individual.
What kind of things were you involved in outside of your course?
Another great thing about Cass and City, University of London is the variety of things to do outside of the course. There are so many professional and non-professional activities to do. I had the chance to be course representative of my degree; joined Dance society as Finance Officer; worked as Student Ambassador; I was mentored by a professional management consultant and thus decided to pay back by mentoring other younger Accounting & Finance students; I attended various events organised by careers team or societies. All those activities helped me fight my fears and become more confident about my capabilities and at the same time gave me the chance to get to know many people and start growing my network.
Have you had the opportunity to do any internships or work experience as part of your course?
I did two internships, one abroad after I finished my first year with Intesa SanPaolo Bank in Albania and one in London after I finished my second year with Lloyds Banking Group. Both those experiences taught me how it feels to be in the workplace and put my knowledge into practice.
What would be your top tip for our applicants?
Chose the university that you see as the key that will open the door to your dream career.
