Dunia Mando

Course: BSc Business Management

What were you doing before you came to study at City?

Most recently I finished my International Baccalaureate diploma in Singapore. In the past I have also lived in Shanghai, China but I was born and spent most of my childhood in Zagreb, Croatia.

Why did you decide to apply to study at City, University of London?

I really loved the idea of living in London as it was easy to travel back to my home country, Croatia, which narrowed my choice of universities. After I compared the course structure and looked at the official rankings, I knew City was much more suited for my own preferences in marketing, being a very highly ranked university in England and Europe.

What is your favourite thing about studying at City?

I genuinely love the area that it is located in. It is very vibrant and motivating to be surrounded by smaller local cafes and shops right next to global firms. I also believe that the way of teaching is structured to motivate the students to find what they are passionate about, or further look into an already existing passion, due to the freedom we get in our coursework.

What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?

My passion has always been film and photography. My life in London means I can visit a whole new area every day. I often explore the City with friends and try capture my life in London with my camera. There are always shows and events happening such as concerts and theatre shows. The night life is also spectacular, so it is very easy to stay busy here.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

I plan to travel back to Singapore and find an internship that will allow me to use all the knowledge and skills I gained, as part of my course. Moreover, hopefully I will combine my passion for film industry and business and will join a creative advertising team or even start a small business myself.
