Industry leaders gathered for the fourth annual Cass Real Estate Conference (REC) at Bunhill Row today.

The 'largest student-led real estate conference in London' run by the Cass Real Estate Club, The UK Real Estate Market: Navigating through Uncharted Waters? offered learning and networking opportunities with professionals, delegates, and students from other leading real estate courses.

Welcoming delegates to the event, Professor of Real Estate Economics, Tony Key, said: “This is a genuinely student-led event and it’s been a learning experience for these people.

“It struck me this morning that if you don’t have a chart you’re not really navigating. Fortunately we’re in a period of modest growth and disruptive change, so our speakers will be picking up on one or more of these themes throughout the day.”

Highlights of the event included panel discussions on: whether fund managers can continue to deliver returns on the increasing equity pouring into real estate, the future of the private rental sector, and 24 hour buildings.

Speakers included:

  • Hugo Vere – Head of Real Estate, Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management
  • Amy Aznar –Head of Debt Investments and Special Situations, LaSalle Investment
  • Morwenna Wilson – Senior Project Director, Argent
  • Oliver Gardiner – Head of Development, Land Securities
  • Peter Bill – Journalist, Property EU & Estate Gazette

Vivian Liao, from the Cass Real Estate Club Management Team, said: “This year’s Real Estate Conference was once again a resounding success. We’d like to thank our speakers and panellists for providing such thought-provoking discussions, and everyone who attended for participating in a great day.”

Cass Real Estate Club is a student and alumni led organisation which creates valuable opportunities for members to engage with leading industry professionals and real estate organisations through its regular networking and panel discussion events and workshops throughout the year.
