Cass alumni gather for panel and reception at the British Consulate General in New York
What can we learn from the world of finance, precious metals and the media?
Last month over 50 Cass alumni came together to debate the ethical issues faced by organisations in these and other sectors, at the annual alumni reception in New York.
The panel discussion "Ethics in business: Still a tick-box exercise?" was organised in light of recent increased pressure on businesses to engage with CSR and ethical issues.
The event was held at the British Consulate General.
The evening's speakers were:
• Dr Robert Kelly, Chairman of the USA Cass Alumni Board and Chairperson of CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation), Cass EMBA 1986
• Huw Daniel President, Platinum Guild International, Cass BSc Business Studies 1981
• Nicole Young Senior Producer, CBS Evening News, City University London MA International Journalism 2003.
Cass Professor Andre Spicer headed the debate as chair. The event was followed by dedicated focus group discussion.
Nikki Kolyvani, Cass Acting Head of Alumni Relations, said: "2014 is poised to be another exciting year for Cass alumni in the USA. We are looking forward to seeing how we can improve our USA alumni engagement. The feedback we received from the focus group discussion will be added to the responses to our online survey in order to further shape the US alumni strategy going forward."
