MBAs storm to npower Energy Challenge competition final

Two of three finalist teams are from Cass

Two of the three finalist teams in this year RWE npower Energy Challenge competition for MBA students are from Cass.

Student teams were challenged to develop a solution to the proposition:

Energy is the lifeblood of modern society. Nothing works unless we get energy right, yet most people see their relationship with their energy provider as a burden rather than an opportunity. How can npower use existing and emerging technologies to initiate a positive change and turn this relationship on its head?

This is the seventh annual energy challenge, but previous years have only been open to undergraduate students.

To reach the competition final teams submitted a 500 word summary of ideas and gave a six minute presentation to a panel of judges in regional heats.

The winning MBA team will take away a £5,000 prize fund and guaranteed paid work placement for all members.

The final will be held in London on Monday at the Royal Institution. Adam Templeman, Resourcing Manager for RWE npower and Professor of the History of Science Frank James, Head of Collections at The Royal Institute, will both speak.

Students will have the opportunity to network with RWE npower employees and executives from both the UK and Germany.

The Cass MBA student teams through to the final are:
'Innogreen' comprising Hubert Rault, Cody Liebman, Boon Han Tan and Jithender Reddy.
'Transforma' comprising Thaddeus Daniel, Ana Mora Luna, Pablo Barreneche and Louise Potgieter.
