New toolkit offers businesses advice on employee engagement

A new toolkit on employee engagement, which features a chapter from Cass academic Professor Cliff Oswick, is available for businesses to download.

The toolkit offers practical and theoretical advice from some of the country's top management thinkers on engaging employees.

The quick-read guide includes a chapter by Professor Oswick on 'Developing leadership styles that facilitate employee engagement'.

Other topics offer advice on achieving engagement across borders, how line managers can raise engagement levels and overcoming barriers to senior leader engagement.

Commenting on the importance of employee engagement Professor Oswick said: "When you have high levels of employee engagement people self-instigate; they do things because they think it is right to do so, because they feel they have a responsibility. This feeds into a more innovative culture, and better performance."

The toolkit is published by, in association with Great Place to Work.
