Professor Steve Haberman takes the reins at Cass Business School
Richard Gillingwater stepped down in December after six years in charge
Professor Steve Haberman has begun his new role as Dean of Cass Business School. He has taken over from Richard Gillingwater who announced last year he would step down after six years in charge.
"It is a great honour and privilege to start 2013 as Dean," said Professor Haberman, who was Cass Deputy Dean for 10 years. "Under Richard's exceptional leadership, the School made outstanding progress and it is my aim to continue building on this success."
Professor Haberman graduated in mathematics from the University of Cambridge, qualified as an FIA in 1975, and obtained his PhD and DSc in actuarial science from City University. He is a former member of both the Council of the Institute of Actuaries and the Financial Reporting Council's Board for Actuarial Standards and is a current member of Legal and General's Longevity Science Advisory Panel.
