Cass student wins first AXA Private Equity Foundation Scholarship
Lukas Gradischnig receives £25,000 scholarship and internship award
Cass MSc student Lukas Gradischnig has been awarded the inaugural AXA Private Equity Foundation Scholarship.
The £25,000 award includes a full scholarship for Cass's MSc in Corporate Finance and a two-month paid internship at AXA Private Equity's headquarters in London.
Lukas, from Austria, was selected for the scholarship after beating dozens of other Cass students in an essay competition based on a real deal involving AXA Private Equity.
Commenting on the award, Lukas said: "I am delighted to be the first student at Cass to receive this prestigious scholarship. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to combine theoretical learning with practical experience at one of the City's leading private equity firms."
Head of AXA Private Equity UK, Stefano Mion, said: "It gives us great pleasure to welcome Lukas to our team and provide him with first-hand experience of life within our industry. He will benefit greatly from the new scholarship at Cass which we are delighted to have helped to establish. Through the AXA Private Equity Foundation we are firmly committed to the promotion of knowledge, social mobility and equal opportunity."
The scholarship and internship are part of a £100,000 agreement between AXA Private Equity and Cass's M&A Research Centre signed earlier this year.
Director of the centre, Professor Scott Moeller, said: "The M&A Research Centre is a unique platform for corporate partners to access world-class research, talented recruits and international networking opportunities.
"We are thrilled to be working with one of the City's most highly-regarded private equity firms to help talented students, such as Lukas, launch their careers in finance."
