Cass alumni recognised in 'Top 30 under 30' Actuarial professionals list
Three graduates from Cass honoured by leading Actuarial website
Three graduates from Cass Business School have been listed in the 'Top 30 under 30' Actuarial professionals list by the Actuarial Post.
The Actuarial Post is a leading online portal which provides news, analysis, jobs and the latest information on the Actuarial market.
Tayo Obayelu, Steven Yang Yu and Nick Grover all studied on the MSc in Actuarial Science programme at Cass.
Tayo Obayelu graduated from Cass in March 2010 and is currently working at Alexander Forbes, Nigeria. This is part of the Alexander Forbes Group - a global provider of employee benefit, investment and risk solutions.
Tayo is the team leader of the Employee benefits team which provides funding valuations for pension funds.
Commenting on her achievement Tayo said: "I was thrilled to make the Top 30 list. Cass played a vital role in helping me achieve this feat. From its diverse student network to its outstanding academic scheme effected through excellent staff, Cass left no stones unturned in equipping me for a successful actuarial career."
Steven Yang Yu graduated from Cass in 2006 and works at Redington, an independent investment consultancy where he co-manages Redington's team of quantitative analysts.
The team provides analytical solutions to the firm's pension fund and insurance clients across the UK and Europe.
Steven said: "Perhaps the proudest moment since I started my actuarial career is last week when I was named as one of Actuarial Post's 'Top 30 Under 30.' The exciting feeling of getting such an award in the early stage of my career cannot simply be explained with a few words.
"I would like to express my deep gratitude to Cass Business School. The School provided a wonderful start to my actuarial studies. Its top quality teaching, world class professionals as well as state-of-the-art a facility collectively adds to a fantastic educational experience for its students."
Graduating from Cass in 2011, Nick Grover works at Hymans Robertson, an independent pensions consultancy, where he works primarily with defined benefit pension schemes.
He said: "I was delighted and honoured to be included in such a prestigious list. Cass played a huge part in this award, not just developing my focus on a career in actuarial science, but also being a major factor in securing the graduate actuarial role I sought with Hymans Robertson. I'm sure the many friends and contacts I made during my time with Cass also helped secure vital votes and will continue to assist me further with my future career."
Head of Faculty of Actuarial Science and Insurance, Dr Ben Rickayzen, said: "I am delighted to hear that our Actuarial Science graduates have been recognised for their significant contribution to the Actuarial Science industry at such a young age."
