Cass students benefit from launch of Inscribe Notebooks
1600 Cass undergraduate students to receive free University branded notebook
1600 Cass undergraduate students will receive a welcome gift from the School this week following the rollout of 'Inscribe Notebooks'. Inscribe supplies University branded notebooks containing key content such as an academic calendar as well as 250 pages of lined paper. The Cass notebooks are sponsored by local and national businesses and graduate recruiters such as KPMG, Endsleigh Student Insurance, New Scientist and RBS, who have placed advertisements on divider pages within each notebook.
The initiative was trialled at Cass by two entrepreneurial students - Theodore Larn Jones from City University and Greg Drach from Cass Business School, following their success in the 2010 City Spark Competition. The Inscribe team were incubated within the Peter Cullum Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cass, which provided support for the initiative prior to the UK rollout of 27,600 notebooks to four universities this autumn.
Ann Brown, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programme says: "The fact that the notebooks are free is a tremendous bonus for us and for the students. We can ask for key information to be included in the notebook and the organisation of the tabs that mirror the modules is extremely useful. The students also value the information provided on services in the local area and this really helps to enhance the overall Cass student experience. Initial student feedback has been extremely positive."
Greg Drach, Inscribe Co-Founder says: "We set out to create a high-quality notebook that students will use throughout the academic term. The positive feedback we have received from students indicates that we've been successful in accomplishing our goal and we are currently in talks with other universities to launch this free tool at other campuses in the coming year."
