Cass actuarial courses awarded industry gold standard
Undergraduate and postgraduate programmes reaccredited by UK Actuarial Profession
Cass's undergraduate and postgraduate actuarial courses have been reaccredited by the UK Actuarial Profession for another five years.
The BSc in Actuarial Science, MSc in Actuarial Science and MSc in Actuarial Management maintained their gold standard status following a comprehensive assessment by the industry's professional body.
It means Cass has continuously held the status since becoming the first institution in the UK to have both its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes fully accredited by the UK Actuarial Profession in 2006.
Dr Ben Rickayzen, Head of the Faculty of Actuarial Science and Insurance, said: "All three of our actuarial courses have been awarded the full five-year reaccreditation by the UK Actuarial Profession.
"We are delighted our programmes have received independent recognition for their academic rigour and relevance to the areas in which our students go on to work .
"One of the strengths of our programmes is that they are taught by academics who are qualified actuaries themselves and who have first hand experience of working within the industry.
"This ensures our students are exposed to the practical skills, knowledge and concepts they need to succeed in their actuarial careers."
Students who take an actuarial course at Cass can gain exemption from many of the examinations of the UK Actuarial Profession.
The Actuarial Profession represents members of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, which is the chartered professional body for actuaries in the UK.
