City legal expert joins Cass

Dr Anthony Angel awarded Visiting Professorship

Dr Anthony (Tony) Angel has been appointed Visiting Professor of Practice at Cass in recognition of his major contribution to the field of management thinking in the legal profession.
Tony will be attached to the Centre for Professional Service Firms, where academics, led by Professor Laura Empson, are doing important research into the changing world of lawyers, accountants, management consultants and other professionals.  His appointment follows on from the degree of Doctor of Science honoris causa which Tony was awarded by City University last year.
Tony said: I am honoured to have received a Visiting Professorship at Cass and I look forward to contributing to the timely and relevant research which is being carried out at the School.  Professional services in the City, particularly law firms, have changed beyond recognition, and UK headquartered law firms have lead the world in the professionalisation and globalisation of the legal profession this is a subject area which MBA students are very interested in and I hope to be able to contribute to their thinking in this area.
Professor Laura Empson, Director of the Centre for Professional Service Firms, said: I am delighted that Tony has been appointed Visiting Professor at the School. His experience and intellectual expertise will be of immense value to the Centre and our students.
