Sunday, 7 November, 2010

Senior academics, alumni and senior business practitioners gathered at Cass Business School last week for the formal launch of several new special advisory boards which aim to support and develop a number of Cass’s academic and professional activities. By harnessing the wealth of talent from Cass alumni and the business community Cass aims to ensure that it continues to provide a learning environment for its students which truly bridges the world of academia and business.
The Alumni and Strategy and Development Boards, which have been active since 2008, will be complemented by seven new groups focussing on a number of different areas of the School’s operations including MBA, Centre for Asset Management Research, Finance MScs, MSc in Management, Actuarial Science, Undergraduate Business and Management and Undergraduate Finance.
Each board is chaired by a senior academic, with the support of Cass’s Alumni Relations and Development team, and are comprised of a mix of alumni and industry experts who bring a wealth of experience and insight which enhance the experience of the students as well as their career prospects. The boards will meet on a regular basis throughout the year and their recommendations  and feedback will be implemented by Cass staff.
Director of Development and External Relations, Paola Barbarino says: The Strategy and Development Board and the Alumni Board have now been active for 2 years and their contribution has been extremely helpful. In the last few months since the new Boards have had their first and, in some instances, second meetings, there is already a new buzz in the air here at Cass. The input and participation from these boards is already making a tangible impact
