Alumni World Forum Scholarship

New scholarship allows global alumni to recommend high calibre candidates

Thursday, 22 July, 2010

As luminaries, alumni, business leaders, academics and students gathered in London and across five continents for Cass's first ever global alumni reunion on Friday 16 July, the School announced the launch of the Alumni World Forum Scholarship to mark the occasion.

The new scholarship will allow global alumni to personally recommend high calibre executives who they think will benefit from studying the full-time MBA.  It will be offered to one candidate who fulfils the qualifying academic criteria and who impresses during the final interview, with no restriction on nationality.

Professor Steven Haberman, Deputy Dean, Cass Business School, commented: The value that we place on our distinguished alumni, the journey that an MBA takes them on and the life-long relationship that they have with the School, have naturally led to the offering of this scholarship. Our alumni understand the drive, hard work, commitment and striving for excellence that are required to successfully complete the Cass MBA and to participate fully in the course. It is these key traits that they will recognise in people, whether they are professional or personal contacts, and it is people with these attributes who we would like to study at Cass.

Dr Theresa Dzendrowskyj, Head of Alumni Relations at Cass commented: Across the globe we're witnessing a change in the relationship that business schools have with their alumni communities, as more than ever, there's a desire to stay connected.  At Cass we are focussing on maximising opportunities for alumni to engage with each other, with current students and the School, for the purposes of networking, recruitment, continued professional development and also some fun. We always encourage our graduates to recommend high calibre candidates, and this scholarship is an example of how we are linking alumni with the business community.  The launch of this AWF Scholarship is a formal acknowledgement of our ongoing commitment to growing our alumni network across 130 countries.
