Worshipful Company of Marketors funds new scholarship for MBA student

Friday, 2 October, 2009

The Worshipful Company of Marketors is sponsoring a new, £10,000 scholarship for one full time MBA student at Cass. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has opted for marketing subjects as their main focus and it helps to consolidate the ongoing relationship between Cass and The Worshipful Company of Marketors.
The Worshipful Company of Marketors is one of the modern livery companies and aims to promote marketing as a force for economic and public benefit and to encourage excellence in education and practice. The company was formed in 1975 and became a livery company in 1978.
The relationship between the Worshipful Company of Marketors and Cass has been ongoing for over a decade. Cass has helped the Marketors organise their annual lecture and the Marketors also host some of their events at the School. Vince Mitchell, Professor of Consumer Marketing at Cass, is a member of the society and was invited to become a liveryman last year.
The Marketors' Scholarship will be awarded for the first time to a student from the 2009/2010 class. Those students who have achieved academic excellence through coursework and exam results will be invited to apply for the scholarship - the winner will be required to submit a dissertation based on a topic chosen by the Marketors.
Professor Mitchell says: The Marketors are looking for smart, hard-working candidates who are committed to the marketing discipline and a career in marketing as well as developing marketing practice and making it more credible and respected.
