New Head of the Faculty of Finance appointed at Cass

Professor Lucio Sarno has joined Cass as the new Head of the Faculty of Finance.  Professor Sarno joins the School from Warwick Business School, where he was Professor of Finance and acted as Chair of the Finance Group and Associate Dean for Research.

Lucio is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and, prior to serving at Warwick, he held positions at the University of Oxford and Columbia University.  He is internationally renowned in the area of international finance and is the author of over 60 articles published in leading finance and economics journals.

He has been involved in policy advice, training, research and consulting projects for a number of institutions, including the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, the Bank of Canada, the Central Bank of Norway, the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, the World Bank, the European Commission, and a number of banks and asset management companies in Wall Street and the City.  In 2007-08 Lucio was Director of Currency Research at AXA Investment Managers.

He has also authored and edited several books, including a graduate textbook on The Economics of Exchange Rates (Cambridge University Press, 2003).
