The latest graduating class of the Executive MBA in Dubai joined thousands of graduands from City, University of London in a virtual celebration last week to mark the completion of their studies.
The event took place on Thursday, August 6th and featured a range of prepared content, including an opening presentation from City’s President, Professor Sir Paul Curran and video messages of congratulations from Prof Steve Thomas, Associate Dean, MBA Programmes; Dr Kevin Dunseath, Director, Dubai Centre; and Dubai Centre staff.
The diverse cohort of graduands originate from countries including Jordan, Algeria, United Kingdom, Turkey, Nigeria, India, Azerbaijan and Trinidad. They are full-time professionals working in various industries from hospitality, consulting, oil and gas, finance, and architecture.
These graduands took the opportunity to share their thoughts on their Executive MBA in Dubai experience.
The Executive MBA in Dubai was a platform for self-development. Not only did it equip me with technical knowledge, but it also gave me the opportunity to develop my soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, interpersonal skills – all important attributes for executives.
Majority of the modules required team work and were obviously time bound. This helped us to learn very fast how to bond and work through our differences in style; I was then able to replicate this at my workplace.
The teaching standards were fantastic, you could tell the effort from all the faculty was exactly the same as it would be at the main London campus. There was never a feeling of being in a 'satellite' campus.
