Cass women appear at Financial Times Women at the Top 2019
Summit discusses key issues shaping gender debates today
Academics from Cass Business School appeared at the Financial Times Women at the Top Summit on Thursday 17th October at the Landmark Hotel, London. The theme of the Summit was Money and Power.
Dr Annelore Huyghe, Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship, appeared on a panel discussing ‘How to pitch and be pitched to’ with Alison Rose, Incoming CEO, RBS and Adam Parr, Entrepreneur and venture capitalist and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Williams F1. The panel was chaired by Andrew Hill, Management Editor, Financial Times.
Dr Amanda Goodall presented an exclusive masterclass on her research into expert leadership. Speaking at the event, she told delegates:
“If you are looking to become a manager or leader, or you want to promote someone into a management position, make sure both you and they are experts in the core business. Core business experts are credible, know what good looks like, and the evidence clearly shows, followers are more likely to be productive and happy, and to remain with the organisation.”
Women at the Top featured appearances from many of the UK’s leading figures in finance, business and government including Elizabeth Truss, Secretary of State for International Trade and Minister for Women and Equalities; Vivian Hunt DBE, Managing Partner, UK and Ireland, McKinsey & Company; Tiina Lee, Chief Executive Officer, UK & Ireland, Deutsche Bank and Inga Beale DBEBoard Director, London First.
