Third annual MARC conference

Keynote speech delivered by Philip Whitchelo, Vice-President at Intralinks.

The Mergers and Acquisitions Research Centre (MARC) in cooperation with the European Corporate Governance Centre (ECGI) held the Third Cass Mergers and Acquisitions Research Centre Conference at Cass Business School, City, University of London.

The keynote speech was delivered Philip Whitchelo, Vice President for Strategic Business & Corporate Development, Intralinks.

"There isn’t often an opportunity to spend a full day at a conference talking about M&A. That’s why I’m back here for the second year [in a row],” was the opening statement in the first presentation given by David Becher, Associate Professor in Finance, Drexel University and Fellow, Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.

The conference was attended by academics, PhD students, practitioners and alumni and welcomed presenters from Yale, Rensselaer, Southern Methodist University, Drexel, London School of Economics, Singapore Management University and McGill.

It covered topics such as innovation, competition, financial protectionism, human capital synergies, employee relations, stock liquidity, control rights, corporate governance and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
