Executive Masters will enhance leadership and knowledge
The Executive Masters is specifically designed to help enhance the leadership and knowledge of successful senior doctors. It aims to equip doctors with the high-level skills they need to improve their organisation’s performance and, ultimately, people’s health.
The two-year part-time course, the first medical leadership degree exclusively for doctors at a UK business school, is designed to fit around doctor’s busy schedules.
Course inspired by research
Course Directors Dr Amanda Goodall and Dr Amit Nigam said the course was inspired by their own research on expert leadership and organisational change, which is associated with improved organisational performance in healthcare.
“However, unlike most generic healthcare management masters, our business school programme targets doctors. What we teach is evidence-based and draws on our own research and case studies, as well as expert knowledge,” said Dr Nigam.

Course comes at crucial time for healthcare sector
Dr Goodall said the course came at a crucial time for the healthcare sector and would empower doctors to navigate the complex regulatory and health policy environment and understand the positive impact good leaders can make.
“Now, more than ever, the UK needs strong medical leadership. It is time to empower doctors to step forward and take control of the leadership and management of their organisations,” she said.
