Gianvito Lanzolla named Head of Management Faculty

Professor Gianvito Lanzolla has been appointed as Head of Faculty of Management at Cass.

Cass is pleased to announce the appointment of Gianvito Lanzolla, Professor of Strategic Leadership as the new Head of Faculty of Management.

Professor Lanzolla joined the School as a Senior Lecturer in April 2006. His research focuses on strategic leadership, principally the competitive advantage, and its persistence, in rapidly changing technological and institutional environments. Specifically, he has focused on value capturing from digital transformation, first mover advantage and business model scalability.

He is currently the Director of Cass Executive Education's programmes Strategic Leadership into Action (in conjunction with Sandhurst) and Leading Digital Transformation.

On his appointment, Professor Marianne Lewis, Dean of Cass Business School said, “Professor Lanzolla is a welcome addition to the senior leadership of the School. He brings tremendous research, teaching and professional excellence and experience – critical keys to supporting the School’s faculty and broader stakeholders.

“I also extend my gratitude to Professor Cliff Oswick for his impressive achievements over the last five years in this position. Thanks to his efforts, Gianvito will lead an exceptionally talented and committed Faculty of Management.”

Professor Lanzolla said, "It is an honour and an exciting challenge to take on this important position and to follow Professor Oswick’s excellent leadership over the last five years. I look forward to working with our new Dean and the Cass executive team to deliver on our strategic goals over the coming years, ensuring that we continue to develop our research excellent faculty and internationally renowned programmes.”

Professor Lanzolla will take up the five year leadership position from 1st January 2016.
