Cass alumnus James Newell has been named as one of Charity Finance magazine’s 25 under 35 rising stars in Charity Advisory.
The thirty year-old director of fundraising and management of Kingston Smith, which offers accountancy and business advice to not-for-profit companies and entrepreneurs, has an MSc from Cass Business School in grant-making, philanthropy and social investment, as well as the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting.
James joined Kingston Smith in 2012 and was promoted to lead the fundraising business in 2014. He supports a wide range of charities with fundraising advice, impact analysis and governance reviews.
Mr Newell said: “The charity sector attracts remarkably talented and inspirational people, so I was both surprised and delighted to be recognised as a rising star in the advisory space.
“I pride myself on being a passionate advocate for the charity sector and am always looking for development opportunities to make me the strongest asset I can be to the charities I work with now, and those I will in the future.
“My MSc at Cass played an important role in helping me develop my enthusiasm for the sector into a more tangible skill set. Learning from and with like-minded individuals was empowering. I can't think of a better way to network, learn, develop and ultimately 'qualify' as a charity professional than with a Cass Masters.”
