Cass announces partnership with White & Case

M&A Research Centre reveals new senior sponsor

Global law firm White & Case LLP has become the exclusive legal industry Senior Sponsor to the Mergers and Acquisitions Research Centre (MARC) at Cass Business School.

The Firm has announced a strategic partnership with MARC from the beginning of 2015 and joins Credit Suisse, one of the world's leading financial services providers, EY, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services and independent private investment company Ardian as a Senior Sponsor. MARC is the first centre dedicated to research into the global M&A industry to have been established by a major business school.

London-based White & Case partner Jan Matejcek, Regional Section Head, EMEA M&A/Corporate, will represent the Firm on the MARC advisory board. He said: "We're very pleased to announce our association with a unique research centre at a business school with a worldwide reputation for academic excellence. As a truly global law firm, advising clients on M&A matters is an essential part of our DNA and ensures we're ideally positioned to make a contribution to MARC's cutting edge output. The partnership will also offer our people exciting opportunities."

Professor Scott Moeller, MARC Director and advisory board member, said: "We're delighted to welcome White & Case as a Senior Sponsor. We wanted to bring on board a law firm that matched the calibre of our existing partners and was able to provide a global perspective on the M&A industry's dynamics and participants - White & Case fulfils these criteria to the fullest extent."

During 2014 White & Case advised on 283 M&A deals globally with a combined value of more than US$400 billion, according to full year figures from Mergermarket. As one of the world's leading law firms in the area of M&A, White & Case is distinguished by its experience and focus on both strategic and private equity transactions, specific industries and cross-border transactions.
