QAA visits Dubai Centre
The trip was part of an inspection tour of British universities operating in UAE
The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) recently visited the Dubai Centre, part of City university London and its Cass Business School, as part of a region-wide inspection tour of British universities operating in the UAE.
Representatives from the Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) joined QAA for the visit. The KHDA license all Cass and City University programmes delivered at the centre. These include the Cass Executive MBA (EMBA) and City University London's MSc courses in Air Safety Management, Air Transport Management and Aircraft Maintenance Management.
QAA is part of the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE), an organisation which provides financial support for universities in the UK.
QAA ensures that publicly funded institutions maintain high standards, providing students with the best possible learning experience. They look into operations within each institution, examining how new programmes are approved, how existing programmes are monitored and how new staff and students are recruited. QAA also review information about each university available in their marketing documents, student handbooks and web sites.
Ehsan Razavizadeh, Regional Director for MENA and Head of Dubai Centre said: "I would like to thank our colleagues from QAA and KHDA for their recent visit. Students, alumni and staff welcome our validation from these bodies as a reassurance of the quality of our offering. Maintaining our high academic standards is key to the Institution's activities in the region. We look forward to continuing to grow and develop our programmes and services in 2014 and beyond."
