Professor Bobby Banerjee appointed Director of Cass PhD programmes

Professor Banerjee will oversee the launch of first Executive PhD cohort

Professor Bobby Banerjee has been appointed as the new Director of Cass's Executive PhD programme.

Professor Banerjee, who joined Cass in January, was previously an Associate Dean of Research at the College of Business, University of Western Sydney.

The Executive PhD is due to launch at the beginning of 2014, in partnership with TiasNimbas Business School at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.

It is a four-year, part-time degree programme targeted at senior public and private sector professionals. It will support the career development of high-profile, research-oriented business executives who use research to enhance the understanding of the organisations and processes they manage.

Professor Banerjee said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Director of Cass's PhD programmes. I am particularly looking forward to working on our new Executive PhD with my colleagues here and at TiasNimbas.

"For students, the degree is a chance to demonstrate greater value to their company and develop career enhancing knowledge and skills. Meanwhile, employers retain the student's expertise and benefit from a four-year thesis tailored to develop new insights to their business needs and objectives."
