Bloomberg employees given M&A masterclass
Professor Scott Moeller invited to talk at European HQ of influential financial news and data provider
Cass Professor Scott Moeller delivered an M&A masterclass to a cross-section of employees at Bloomberg, one of the world's leading suppliers of business and financial information and analytics.
Close to 150 employees including journalists, analysts, application specialists and managers listened to him speak at the firm's London headquarters while dozens more watched online at their desks around the world.
Professor Moeller shared his insights on global M&A trends following an invitation from a senior Bloomberg employee who is currently taking Professor Moeller's M&A course as part of her Executive MBA programme.
With the M&A market in a downturn, Professor Moeller highlighted a series of indicators that could signal a return of confidence among dealmakers.
Among the triggers he identified were six months of stable equity markets, a solid IPO market and deals taking place outside "predictable" industries.
His talk was followed by a roundtable and networking lunch with journalists, managers and application specialists.
Professor Moeller's talk at Bloomberg's European HQ followed an invitation early this year to share M&A insights with senior mangers at the Financial Times.
