Cass hosts event at New York's Yacht Club

Cass Business School hosted a prestigious alumni event in New York last week. Held at the New York Yacht Club, Cass welcomed guest speakers Bob Kelly, former CEO of Bank of New York Mellon, global banker Sir Malcolm Williamson and US Banking Editor for the Financial Times, Tom Braithwaite.

The event, attended by numerous journalists, including these from the New York Times, Crains's New York Business and Reuters and moderated by Tom Braithwaite, included a panel discussion on the current issues facing global banking.

Paola Barbarino, Director of Development and External Relations at Cass Business School said: "We were delighted to host Sir Malcolm Williamson, a Cass Board-member and donor, and alumnus, Dr. Bob Kelly, Chairman of the US Alunmi board for fascinating and frank debates."

Over drinks and canapés, Dr. Kelly, Sir Malcolm and Mr. Braithwaite mingled with Cass Alumni, potential students and Cass academic and professional staff.

Sir Malcolm's current non-executive roles are Chairman of National Australia Group Europe Ltd, Clydesdale Bank PLC and Director of National Australia Bank Ltd.

Dr. Kelly serves as Director of Asset Management at Perseus Realty Partners LLC. He is also the Treasurer and Director at Financial Services Roundtable. Mr. Kelly served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Bank of New York Mellon from 2009 to August 2011.
