MSc Careers Fair event at Cass

'High calibre' students impress top city firms

Last week over 80 companies attended our biggest ever MSc Careers Fair to meet our new cohort of 1300 full-time and part-time MSc students.

Over 30 new companies exhibited at the fair for the first time including Barclays Wealth, BlackRock, GE Capital, Lambert Smith Hampton and Willis Group Holdings.

A spokesperson for BNP Paribas commented on the 'high calibre of students who were well prepared, well presented and career focused'.

Bloomberg representatives noted the 'educated questions from knowledgeable students' and Nomura advisors were impressed by the students 'all in suits, eager to work and well prepared with intelligent questions'.

Sarah Juillet, Director of Postgraduate Careers at Cass said: "Cass Careers would like to thank all the companies and students who attended. Recruiter's feedback was mostly positive with encouraging comments from recruiters on students' professional business dress and the depth of research they had done prior to the event."

The Careers Fair provided students with the first opportunity to make an impact on those who will be receiving their applications. MSc students will now begin attending a wide range of interactive professional development workshops, learning how to maximise CV impact, how to impress in interviews, efficient job search techniques and more. Attending the workshops will ensure students are fully prepared for the next steps of their careers programme at Cass including one-to-one appointments with career coaches to hone their personal career strategy.
