MBA induction - an introduction

Dr Sionade Robinson introduces MBA induction for the 2011 cohort.

In this week's Cass Talks, Doctor Sionade Robinson, Course Director for the Full Time MBA, talks to Yo Takatsuki, MBA student, about the MBA induction activities.

Dr Robinson comments on how induction this year has a slightly different atmosphere as many of the students have already interacted via Facebook over the summer.

She outlines how the first week of the three week induction is all about networking with other MBA students, forming teams for group work and laying the foundations for working relationships over the coming year.

In the second week, students attend an intensive careers boot camp, designed to focus and sharpen student career development ensuring clear goals are set out for the course proper.

The highlight for many MBA students is the residential weekend where students are taken on a team building weekend 'outside their comfort zone' according to Dr Robinson.

Lastly the third week aims to equip students with the study skills they require to succeed in the MBA before 'the faculty get hold of them'.
