The award extends over three or four years (with the exception of any placement year) subject to satisfactory academic performance. Students are free to spend the money as they see fit. Students do not need to apply as all qualifying students will automatically be awarded the Scholarship in January 2013. A-levels in General Studies and Critical Thinking are excluded from the required qualifications. Students may be eligible for additional scholarships. However, students can be awarded either the National Scholarship Programme Award or The Lord Mayor of London Scholarship. Students planning to do an Erasmus year or a placement year in industry will not be entitled to The Lord Mayor of London Scholarship for that year. Students who withdraw from the University before completion of their studies will be liable to refund to the University the full amount received for that year. The University requires adequate academic performance to award the Scholarship in subsequent years.
