Do business schools make a difference?

Visiting Professor of Practice, Stefan Stern, presents the case for business education

The relationship between academics and practitioners is sometimes marked by mutual distrust, but the growth of business as an academic discipline had helped change this. The key, according to Stefan Stern, visiting professor of practice at Cass, is that theory must lead to practice.

Talking to full time MBA student, Yo Takatsuki, in this week's Cass Talks Stefan Stern also believes that it is naive to dismiss the notion that you can't learn business. "Human beings can be taught and get better at what we do. We are not all born entrepreneurs but we all have the capacity to be business like. There has to be thought and not just action."

The Cass Talks interviews are an opportunity to hear Cass faculty and prominent alumni give their perspective on current business and finance news stories, global issues affecting the business world and new research coming out of the School.
