Can trust between managers and employees survive redundancies?

Professor Veronica Hope-Hailey questions if trust levels are inevitably damaged in the economic downturn.

 One of the worst side-effects of the economic crisis has been widespread redundancies in firms, not least Lloyds Banking Group which recently announced the loss of 15,000 jobs in the next three years.

In this week's Cass Talks Professor Veronica Hope-Hailey, Associate Dean of MBA programmes at Cass Business School discusses how trust levels are easily damaged during periods of redundancy in firms.

Nevertheless she points to indications that trust levels can be improved despite redundancies providing employees are treated justly and openly by senior management and outlines plans for her new research into the topic.
