Alumni donate £42,000 in telephone campaign

Students phone 1,400 alumni across UK

Generous Cass alumni donated more than £42,000 during this year's annual telephone fundraising campaign for the Cass Business School Fund.

The annual drive saw 44 students make phone calls to 1,400 alumni in the UK to discuss ways they can support the School. Alumni were sent letters before the campaign giving them the choice to take part.

Taking place over four weeks, the campaign attracted a further £25,000 in pledges with one alumnus also expressing an interest in launching a new scholarship.

Angela Bowen, from the Cass Development team, said: "We're delighted by the fantastic response this campaign received from alumni in the UK. On average, each alumnus who donated to the Fund gave a gift of £305 which will go towards improving the School's teaching and learning facilities for current and future students.

"The phone calls lasted between 15 and 20 minutes each, giving us a chance to find out what our alumni are up to, how we can support them, as well as what they can do for the School. I would like to thank our alumni for their generous donations and our current students who helped run the campaign."

Giving to Cass is a tremendous vote of confidence for the School. It is a vital indicator to other donors such as foundations and corporations that its alumni and friends believe in the School.
