Wednesday, 26 May, 2010

No economic forecaster could possibly have foreseen the financial crisis, suggests Cass Professor Roy Batchelor, as the factors that caused the problems in the banking sector were so unexpected.

Professor Batchelor explains the best way for accurately providing an economic forecast and defends the forecasting role of the Treasury in this week’s Cass Talks interview.

The Cass Talks interviews are an opportunity to hear Cass faculty give their perspective on current business and finance news stories, global issues affecting the business world and new research coming out of the School.

Professor Roy Batchelor is HSBC Professor of Banking and Finance at Cass.  Listen, watch and download Professor Batchelor’s Cass Talks and see other Cass academics share their opinions at www.cass.city.ac.uk/casstalks
