Can hedge fund manager behaviour be likened to casino gambling?

Dr Nick Motson explains his research into the risk appetite of fund managers

Wednesday, 24 March, 2010

Fund management expert, Dr Nick Motson, says his research shows evidence that hedge fund managers may be inconsistent with their approach to risk and become more cautious once their fund is in profit.  He says this research should be used as a framework for conducting due diligence on hedge funds.
Dr Motson explained his research for this week’s Cass Talks interview.  Cass Talks is a series of free video and audio interviews uploaded weekly each Wednesday, presented by BBC Business Reporter and current Cass EMBA student, Alex Ritson.
The interviews are an opportunity to hear Cass faculty give their perspective on current business and finance news stories, global issues affecting the business world and new research coming out of the School.
