The second interview in the new Cass Talks podcast series has been published today and features Stefan Szymanski, Professor of Economics, discussing the true value of hosting the Olympics.

Professor Szymanski has previously published research which proves that winning major sporting championships is not the key to national happiness, it is hosting the competition that creates the feelgood factor.  This is good news for the organisers of London 2012 and for Rio de Janeiro who were recently awarded the 2016 Olympics.

Cass Talks is a series of free video and audio interviews uploaded weekly each Wednesday, presented by BBC Business Reporter and current Cass EMBA student, Alex Ritson.  The podcasts are an opportunity to hear Cass faculty give their perspective on current business and finance news stories, global issues affecting the business world and new research being generated from academics at the School.
