Overview

Zuhur Balayah is a PhD candidate within the Faculty of Management (in Organizational Behaviour) at Bayes Business School. Her PhD sits within the Centre for Healthcare Innovation Research (a joint interdisciplinary venture between Bayes Business School and the School of Health & Psychological Sciences).

Zuhur's research looks at innovation spread & adoption processes and organizational knowing in complex organizational contexts. Her current research examines the micro-practices of social actors (e.g. change agents) engaged in advancing innovation adoption among knowledge-based workers (e.g. healthcare professionals). Assuming a practice-based theoretical approach, one of the areas her research explores is 'how' and 'why' social actors interact with their situated & pluralistic context to attract potential adopters' attention.

Drawing on narrative data gathered through observations of inter-organizational virtual Communities of Practice shared learning sessions and qualitative interviews, her research could contribute to understanding the social dimension of the change process and wide-scale transformation achieved through focusing attention in a context of attentional overload.
