Class of 2014/15
This year we will be following three students through their year of MSc studies. Genevieve from the UK, Jiin from Malaysia and Alexander from Germany are pursuing their studies in Marketing, Actuarial Science and Global Supply Chain with us at Cass. Follow their progress in this series of video diaries to get a student's eye view of life at Cass.
In this third episode we catch up with the three students as they study their electives and work on dissertations. Finally, they get to let their hair down at the end of year party.
In this second episode the students have begun the second term of their Masters degrees. Genevieve is presenting her project for launching a children's opera at Google's Campus London in front of an audience of marketing and branding professionals. Jiin is hard at work in one of her demanding Actuarial Science classes working with stochastic models. Alexander is hearing from a Cass alumnus who now works for as a Category Manager for Virgin Atlantic in his Procurement class.
In this first episode the three students are already well into term one of their studies. Genevieve has an Innovation class with Course Director Dr Chris Storey as well as a demanding Quants class. Jiin is in a class with Dr Douglas Wright looking at valuing annuities, as well as off on a visit to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries for a careers networking event. Alexander has a class with Co-Course Director, and inspirational lecturer, Dr Son Byung-Gak and then meets up with his colleagues in the Supply Chain Society.
Class of 2011/12
In 2011/12 we followed three students through their year of MSc studies. Patricia from Germany, Bjorn from Sweden and Ilori (Dolu) from Nigeria pursued their Masters studies in Management, Finance and Insurance with us at Cass. Follow their progress in this series of video diaries to get a student's eye view of life at Cass.
Patricia, Bjorn and Ilori begin the year with induction. This means refresher sessions that will allow them to hit the ground running when they start classes as well as careers fairs and a chance to meet others from around the globe at the Welcome Reception.
Bjorn attends his Derivatives & Risk Management lecture where we meet Prof. Richard Payne who talks to us about how important this class is in today's economic climate and how this will help the students' future careers in the finance sector. We also catch up with Patricia her in her marketing strategy. Dolu has a very special lecture run by Lloyds of London, one of the most prestigious companies in the insurance sector.
The year of study at Cass is coming to an end now for our three diarists. Patricia, Dolu and Bjorn are all studying from the range of elective modules available to them in the final term. All three of our diarists are also preparing for life after Cass, Patricia is taking full advantage of the resources Cass Careers offer our students. To finish the year off with a bang our diarists and many of their classmates let their hair down at the end of year party in London's glamorous west end!
Class of 2009/10
We followed three students through their year of MSc studies in 2009/10. Danielle, Maximilien and Heidi come from three different continents but they all pursued their Masters studies in Management, Finance and Accounting with us at Cass. Maximilien, Heidi and Danielle began the year with induction. This meant refresher sessions that allowed them to hit the ground running when they started classes as well as careers fairs and a chance to meet others from around the globe at the Dean's Reception.
In episode two we caught up with Maximilien, Heidi and Danielle as they came to the end of their first term at Cass. Heidi is preparing for an impending test, Maximilien is busy working on some group project work and Danielle has been involved in workshops at Saint Paul's Cathedral with London sixth formers.
In episode 3 Danielle's class welcomed a guest lecturer, entrepreneur Claude Littner, Maximilien and a classmate were working on setting up their own investment fund and Heidi made use of Cass's careers service.
In the final episode of the series we caught up with Maximilien and Heidi as they completed their electives meanwhile Danielle was busy working on her Business Research Project. Finally before they leave Cass to embark on their future careers all the MSc students get together for the end of year party.
