- Costings of projects (salary staff and other costs using Full Economic Costing-fEC)
- Obtaining approval of costs by the Research and Grants office
- Information on application procedures and funding bodies' regulations
- Help with completion of electronic application forms
- Occasional workshops on funding opportunities and proposal writing

Knowledge Transfer
Main contact: Dr Christina Makris, Business Development Manager
The KT Office aims to facilitate the development of relationships between academics and business, enhance the School's profile in the business sector, and develop awareness of the School's research strengths and services to business. Specific services include:
- Development or research briefs and bids for corporate sponsors
- Liaising with research sponsors at all stages of the project
- Assistance with applications for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, CASE studentships and other Resarch Council Knowledge Transfer schemes
- Assistance with proposal writing
- Drop-in grant proposals writing clinic
- Costings of projects (as above)
- Contract negotiation
- Technology transfer, research commercialisation and Intellectual Property Rights protection
- Writing and circulation of a monthly newsletter with Research and KT success stories, funding opportunities, messages and announcements
- Leading on Cass Knowledge
