Our Faculty and their Research

Cass Business School’s highly international faculty is made up of over 100 research-active members with impressive academic credentials and strong industry backgrounds: former senior economic advisors at the Bank of England, quality journal editors, visiting professors in top-tier business schools, fellows of professional bodies, highly cited authors. Working within three main faculties (Finance, Management, and Actuarial Science and Insurance) and over a dozen inter-disciplinary research centres and institutes, Cass faculty generates research of international excellence (5 rating in 2001 RAE).

Research expertise is wide and fast-expanding with over 40 professors in disciplines as diverse as finance, economics, and accounting; strategy, human resources and marketing; actuarial science, insurance and statistics; the voluntary sector, professional service firms, entrepreneurship, shipping, information and knowledge management. We invest in recruiting promising young researchers from the world’s top business schools and developing new talent through our doctoral research programme, one of the largest in the UK and consistently ranked in the world’s top 25 in the FT league tables.

With our faculty advising Governments, regulatory bodies and businesses, our research shapes policy and regulations and feeds into the industry and the professions. It is widely publicised in prestigious journals, international conferences, and influential written and broadcast media.
