We appreciate that a Masters degree is a significant investment. Applicants should therefore consider the financial commitment involved, and ensure that their personal finances for the year are fully thought through.
Each year, the Business School makes funds available for scholarships to outstanding students on each of the Specialist Masters courses. These include:
Abbey/Banco Santander has generously donated five £10,000 scholarships for students coming from Iberamerican countries for post-graduate study at Cass Business School. Candidates must have undergraduate degrees from other affiliated Santander universities.
Eligibility will be based on financial need and academic excellence. Candidates should fill out the scholarship application, together with their MBA/MSc application form and paper work and send it to Cass Business School, no later than May 1, 2010. Successful applicants will be notified by July. These scholarships are for full time MSc or MBA study only.
Vipin Sareen a partner at LV Capital Limited who studied an MBA in Finance and graduated in 1985 is offering European nationals 2 scholarships worth £10,000 each and an exceptional Indian national a single scholarship worth £20,000 or 2 scholarships worth £10,000 each. All scholarships are open to students undertaking an MSc in Finance, or an MBA, or a finance-related discipline at post-graduate level.
To qualify for the full-time MSc/MBA scholarship you must be an Indian or European national with a high academic calibre demonstrated by a first class degree. Relevant postgraduate work experience is desirible.
This £10,000 scholarship will awarded to one student studying the MSc in Insurance and Risk each year. The Trust will view the short list of candidates before a final decision on a recipient is made. The application criteria for this scholarship include:
- An essay question by which the applicants demonstrate why they want to work in the insurance industry and why the financial assistance is important to them.
- Proof of need for financial support.
As well as financial assistance, the Trust and its associated companies will provide the scholar with a mentor and a Business Research Project which forms part of their final assessment.
This scholarship awards £20,000 annually either as one award of £20,000 to an outstanding applicant or as two awards of £10,000. It is open to students of academic excellence from anywhere in the world and contribute towards the tuition fees of an MSc in any of the following subjects:
- Shipping, Trade and Finance
- Supply Chain, Trade and Finance
- Energy, Trade and Finance
One award worth £20,000 is open to all MSc students (with the exception of the charity courses). Applicants must demonstrate financial need and extraordinary academic achievement in their undergraduate degree. Winners of this scholarship also agree to repay, in the fullness of time, the good fortune they have received in being awarded The Dean’s Scholarship. To this end, within 25 years of receiving the scholarship, subject to your financial situation permitting, winners will be expected to provide a similar scholarship for another student at Cass Business School

Applications for scholarships are considered on a competitive basis. All applications must be received by April 16th 2010, we endeavour to make decisions regarding scholarships as early as possible but some decisions may be held over to July or August each year.
What to do next
To qualify for a scholarship you must have a high academic calibre demonstrated by a first class degree or equivalent, be in need of financial assistance and also be in receipt of an offer of a place on a Masters course at Cass.
We do not accept scholarship applications from students who have not yet been made an offer of a place at Cass.
