About Cass CCE
The Centre for Charity Effectiveness (Cass CCE) at Cass Business School, City University, provides a unique centre of excellence in Europe with a mission to increase the effectiveness and achievement of voluntary and community organisations.
Created early in 2004, Cass CCE brings together its predecessor, VOLPROF, with the activities of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants. It offers leaders and managers in the voluntary and community sector the four degree programmes outlined below, along with short courses, mentoring, consultancy and academic research.
Nowhere else in Europe has such a breadth of education, skills development and other capacity building opportunities for leaders and managers, been assembled that focuses specifically on the voluntary and community sector.

Course Information
Cass offers five postgraduate courses related to charity effectiveness. They are designed to provide students with accessible, academically robust knowledge and skills, with a practical application to the workplace. The courses are for managers who are responsible for raising, accounting for, giving, monitoring and evaluating funds, as well as those involved in more general management and leadership, or who want to become so.
The courses encourage students to interact with each other. There is opportunity to debate, have access to a wide range of skills, share practical knowledge and experiences, and to gain a sound understanding of other disciplines within a voluntary and community sector organisation.
Students can work towards the Postgraduate Diploma then on to the Master’s degree. This flexible approach assists students to manage the demands of professional and private life, to gain a recognised qualification and enjoy the stimulus of participation in a course with peers from a variety of backgrounds.
The only Business School in Europe offering this range of professional Charity and Not-For-Profit courses. These programmes enable you to:
- Study while working full-time
- Enrol even if you are outside London
