PhD Programme and Fellowships
The PhD Programme at Cass Business School is big and active. PhD students supervised by members of EMG are welcome to join the Centre. They play a key role in contributing to the Centre’s success. They will have the opportunity to meet with EMG members and EMG visiting Fellows, and take part in the EMG networking events.
We are collaborating with the Bank of England to offer an Internship scheme. Next entry is Summer 2010.
The website is open for PhD internship applications from mid-November to late January. Applicants should submit an application form and a supporting reference from their supervising professor. The selection is based on the application and a telephone interview, which will take place during February.
Intra-European fellowships for career development
This action aims at supporting experienced researchers at various stages of their career, helping them in acquiring new research skills (multi or interdisciplinary) or to undertake inter-sectoral experiences. Researchers from a European Community Member State (MS) or Associated country (AC) or assimilated state who at the date of the deadline are in possession of a doctoral degree, or having at least 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience after obtaining the degree allowing them to embark on a doctorate are eligible
Proposals are submitted jointly by the host organisation and the individual researcher, within the specified deadlines, and are evaluated by external independent experts against a series of predetermined criteria. Financial support will be provided to the proposals selected by the Commission, for a period of 12 to 24 months.

ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships
ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships provide a career development opportunity for those at a relatively early stage of their academic career who can demonstrate great potential in Social Science research. As such, these awards form an important element in the Council's objective to promote excellence in UK Social Science capacity building. The awards provide funding for one year full time, or up to two years part time, to give fellows time to gear up for a successful academic career.
New
As part of the ESRC's new initiative aimed at building research capacity
in applied macroeconomics up to 10 fellowships have been allocated for high
quality applications in this area in 2009/10.
