We run a programme of workshops and seminars throughout the two years of your MBA. Except for induction, workshops run on Saturdays and Sundays and count towards the professional development element of your EMBA programme.

Leadership weekend

The first opportunity to hone your leadership and team building skills, exchange ideas and network with your peers.

Mind mapping and speed reading

Get the most of your studies by learning how to greatly increase your reading speed and easily capture and store information.

Case study

Equip yourself with the tools to successfully work through both case study and commercial problems. This workshop gives you the skills, process and above all the confidence to tackle the most unlikely business problems.

Advanced presentation skills

In today's business environment you are expected to be able to stand up in front of an audience and sell your ideas, products and company. In order to do so, you have to be able to sell yourself. Learn the techniques that will make you more influential, convincing and confident.

Beyond the strategy

Learn to close the sale by developing the tools and processes to understand your commercial audience and communicate with them effectively. Successfully sell your personal strategy and use client time effectively.

Creativity

This course will investigate how creativity can, and should, be utilised at an individual level and in context of team and departments within an organisation.

Influence and persuading

Ideas are only valuable if you can persuade others to take action and implement them. This course will help you build coalition skills when communicating with others. It's about powerful techniques which can result in gaining commitment while building strong relationships.

Media training

Feel more confident and get the best out of media opportunities while learning how to cope with tricky interview questions from journalists.

Negotiation

The best negotiators adopt approaches that ensure all parties leave the negotiation with a strong relationship and often with a 'win' on both sides. This workshop will focus on the proven tools, techniques and tactics of principled negotiation.

Insights into leadership

This workshop consists of business simulations which illustrates the distinctive challenges of leadership. You will take an active part which will give you insights into your own preferred leadership styles and motivations and into some of the implications of these preferences.

Leadership transition skills

This consists of a series of four leadership transition skills workshops which  follow on and build upon the insights into leadership workshop. These are about developing the skills required to move successfully into a leadership role, and for leaders to support the transition of individuals, teams and organisations. They are related but can also be taken as individual stand alone workshops.

Networking

Connecting with new people can help you manage your career. Learn how to extend your network and build mutually beneficial relationships.

Own business

Why set up your own business? What characterises a successful small business and why do so many small businesses fail? How do you promote your business and what is the necessary infrastructure? This session will cover all of these points and more.

CVs and applications

We're here to help you learn how to put together an outstanding CV that really highlights what you have to offer. You'll avoid common pitfalls and discover what today's employers are hunting for with this invaluable guide to getting noticed.

Interview skills

Maximise your chances of getting the job you want my improving your interview performance. This workshop will help you increase your impact by looking at your interview style, delivery and strategy.

Personal impact

To build your career, contribute to your team and help grow your business, you need to create positive personal impact. This workshop will focus on how the best of you can bring out the best in others.

Managing conflict

Good business is built on good relationships; skills in maintaining and developing these are paramount. Even in the best of relationships, conflicts can occur and lead to great change and improvement. This workshop explores problems in working relationships and how to manage them positively.

Project management

This seminar focuses on the core skills of project management while debunking the myth that it is an overly technical or mathematical subject.

Mandarin and Spanish

This one-year option is for beginners or intermediate level. The intention is to focus on all four skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) in a business context.
