World-class research with real-world applications

Sir John Cass Business School's success is built substantially on research that is recognised to be of national and international significance. The 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) ranked Cass one of the top ten business schools in the UK for Business and Management research and in 2010, a study published by the European Financial Management Journal ranked Cass Finance research third in Europe and second in the UK.

Within this context we have over 100 academic experts, many of whom have senior and extensive private and/or public sector experience. As such, they apply their research and academic knowledge to real-world challenges and assignments for corporate organisations as well as government and public sector agencies and professional bodies.

Core service offerings

Such projects take various forms:

A serious and bespoke option for business

All Cass research and consultancy projects represent an independent, intellectually insightful and cutting-edge offering derived from our credible and extensive body of research knowledge.

Projects are bespoke and designed to respond to the precise needs of the organisation. Of course, they benefit from our unique levels of access to the City of London's corporations and financial institutions.

We value these collaborations because they lead to new areas of intellectual development for the School. You can therefore be sure that we will work closely with you from formulation of a project brief through to delivery of results. We also ensure that our relationship continues beyond project completion by making links between research projects results and interested stakeholders in Cass and beyond.

Research Centres

Within our three core faculties (Finance, Management, Actuarial Science and Insurance) we have over a dozen active Research Centres focused on specific topics and themes. The centres provide a focus for wide-reaching, high-level networks of academics and industry participants. Practitioners involved with our research centres benefit from access to the latest research expertise and results, participation as speakers and guests at events, workshops and forums.
