A machine for learning
The Building
Le
Corbusier famously called the homes he designed ‘machines for living’.
At Cass, we have created a ‘machine for learning’. 15,000 square
metres of open space, transparent architecture and break out areas all revolve
around Cass’s Learning Resource Centre. A hub for debate,
connected to the city, and the world of business beyond, via 5,000 network points
and 350 kilometres of wiring.
In 1989 we were the first school to give all students Internet access. Today, they can plug into thousands of online journals and over 40 specialist databases of Cass’s Cyril Kleinwort Learning Resource Centre . And for those seeking a career in The City’s trading houses, our Bloomberg sponsored dealing room is as close to the real thing as you can get.
Undergraduate students have full access to these resources and facilities. Their prime base is in brand new facilities at the main City University campus at Northampton Square. Facilities here include a study area and dedicated meeting rooms for students, numerous access points to the University network, a Reuters TV screen and access points to Reuters’ X3000 service.
